Hermann Begemann

Hermann Begemann was a highly decorated Oberst in the Wehrmacht during World War II. He was also a recipient of the Knights Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knights Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Hermann Begemann was captured by Soviet troops after the Battle of Stalingrad, he was held until 1948.
